Coach's Corner
It was an exciting spring for MacDuffie’s student-athletes. We had over 100 students participate on one of 7 athletic teams during the spring. Due to overwhelming student demand, we added a new team sport, a coed Ultimate Frisbee team, which by all accounts was a huge success and we hope to expand this program in the future. During a special all-school assembly on Monday, May 18, the Athletes Department had the opportunity to honor two groups of students-athletes. First, we had a banner-raising ceremony for our successful girls’ basketball team. A new banner honoring this team and their title as NEPSAC Class D Finalists now hangs in the Downing Gymnasium, and each of the 12 players were given new warm-up jackets to honor their achievement. We also honored all of the graduating seniors who participated on a sports team this year. There were 26 students overall, including 16 who played on a spring team. Each student was presented with a custom-made MacDuffie “MacAthlete” t-shirt. We wish all these seniors the best of luck as they leave MacDuffie for college, but hope that they continue to be involved with athletics on some level, as a player, coach, or spectator, and continue to support the Mustangs.
At the Spring Sports Awards night on Thursday, May 28, the following athletes were recognized for their outstanding contributions to MacDuffie’s spring athletics program.

FALL SPORTS REMINDER:
Pre-Season practices for Soccer and Volleyball will begin on Monday, August 24th. Cross Country will begin the first day of school, September 1st. Please check the MacDuffie School calendar for practice times. GO MUSTANGS!
