MacDuffie Students Enjoy Spring Break in Florida
On March 17, dance students traveled to Miami, Florida, for the 10th National High School Dance Festival where they spent four days immersed in dance. Thousands of students came from as far away as Australia to attend this fantastic festival. Students took classes in various disciplines including modern dance, ballet, hip hop, jazz, salsa, Bachata, Pilates, choreography~and an Afro-Modern mix. They studied with teachers from The American Ballet Theatre, Wayne State University, New World School of the Arts, The Joffrey Ballet, and Shenandoah University along with many others. Each day students took three or four classes and then attended dance concerts in the evening, including "Battleworks" - a performance by NYC Based Robert Battle's company.
