II Get to know the MacDuffie Parents' Association

The purpose of The MacDuffie School Parents' Association is to:

  • promote communication among the parents, teachers, administration and students of the School;
  • afford an opportunity for members to meet and exchange ideas;
  • assist the School through projects, gifts and support; to represent the parents of all students in various School activities.

Kirsten Stern, Parents' Association President for the second year, who welcomes parents to attend meetings or communicate via email. “Meetings will be kept to an hour and participation is needed on the varied committees,” says Stern. “Fundraising will be a critical activity this year, as one of our priorities to support the students and school.” “We also encourage parents to participate as part of the following committees,” says Stern.

  1. Parents' Association - General: Senior and 8th grade gifts, Annual fund contribution, raffle participation, parent socials, teacher appreciation breakfasts
  2. Boosters' Athletic Club: Spaghetti supper, magazine drive, concession sales at home games.
  3. Parent Ambassadors: Work with Admissions, open houses, welcome socials, contact new families
  4. Development: Work with Institutional Advancement on auction, phonathon, Reunion Weekend
  5. The Arts: Support during performances, costume sewing, set builds

These committees are dedicated to supporting every aspect of your child's life here at MacDuffie. Many of the traditional activities would not be possible without the help of dedicated parents and guardians.
