MacDuffie Crew

     This season, the MacDuffie Crew proudly represented the school in its first race on Saturday, April 21.  Competing against other teams from Northampton, Williston, and Vermont Academy, nine students rowed in three races, including one Holyoke/MacDuffie unified team.  Braving cold water and strong currents, the MacDuffie boys team managed to finish third.  The boys also came in first as part of a unified team of eight rowers from Holyoke Rows and MacDuffie. On May 9, the MacDuffie boys managed to complete their race despite an equipment failure on their boat. Racing against teams from the Dublin School, Vermont Academy, South Kent, and Lenox High School, the boys again rowed as part of a unified Holyoke/MacDuffie team. Coach Stephanie Moore and Head of School, Mr. Griffin, were very proud of the way the team rowed and Stephanie believes they have great potential for the rest of the season! The team will be rowing at the Moose on the Malden Regatta on May 20. Please wish them luck!
