Program Details:
Approximately 15 students, 1 leader
5 days/week of instruction: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm, M-F
German language, cross-cultural communication, task-based oriented training, applied geography.
Afternoon and Weekend Excursions:
Cologne: City walking tour
Guided tour of the Kölner Dom (Gothic cathedral – World Heritage Site)
Rhine boat trip
Museum
Zoo
Berlin: City bus tour
Filmpark Babelsberg (historic movie studio)

Cost:
Accommodations and 2 meals daily with host families
1,450.00 Euros double room; 1,550.00 Euros single room
Includes breakfast and dinner, entrance fees for 10 activities (above), airport transfers in Germany, Cologne and Berlin public transport passes.

1) What is the name of the company we are dealing with in China?
CHINA SWAN INTERNATIONAL TOURS, which is a government-appointed organization specializing in receiving international tourists; it is an official travel agency. FLS China will assist in managing the details of the trip. Website: www.china-swan.com.cn
2) What is the cost of the trip, and what does the price include?
The cost is $2,250. It covers:
Insurance in China Airport pickup/drop off
Home/hotel stays Three meals each day
All transportation within China All admissions and fees
All activities materials Driver, English speaking tour guide
3) Who is handling payment?
CHINA SWAN INTERNATIONAL TOURS is an official travel agency, qualified to receive overseas funds transferred by The MacDuffie School.
4) What down payment is expected, and when is the balance due?
A non-refundable deposit of $200 (check to be made out to The MacDuffie School) must be delivered to Brenda Joslyn in the Head’s Office no later than Tuesday, February 7. The balance will be due one month prior to departure.
5) Will this company arrange for expedited visas, as other companies do?
China Swan International Tours does not provide Visa procurement. Participants are encouraged to work with the agency suggested by The MacDuffie School, bearing in mind that a passport is a prerequisite to obtaining a Visa. Estimated cost: Visa processing fee $99; FedEx overnight mailing service – about $60 total, to and from.
6) Will this trip be open to adults in the community, or is it exclusively for students?
Parents may also join the trip, but while the students are staying with a host family, they must stay in a hotel. There will be an additional charge (TBD) for hotel accommodations.
