Science Expo Produces Great Results

Thursday, April 26 – The MacDuffie Science Department hosted its annual Science Expo in the Little Theater. Middle School students from the 6th and 7th grade science classes, along with students from the Upper School Conceptual Physics classes, made poster presentations of their independent scientific research projects that covered a wide realm of topics.     Sam Szczur ’18 presenting his Windmill experiment. Above: Conrad Birdie played by Zach Metz ’14 Friday April 13 – Sunday April 15, the MacDuffie Theater Department put on the well known musical, “Bye Bye Birdie.” Directed by Ted Lyman and Produced by Denise Boutin, “Bye Bye Birdie” utilized elaborate sets, costumes and vintage video footage which had never been used in previous musicals. A special congratulations to all the MacDuffie students who participated in the play as well Ted Lyman who celebrated his 76th production with the MacDuffie Theater Department. Mathletes Divide and Conquer

April 2nd, 2012 – Mr. Shelburne, Math teacher and head of the Mathletes, took the team (top left) to the MAML State Invitational Math League Competition at Shrewsbury High School. Of our 6 mathletes, Harry Liu scored the highest, helping the team tie for 5th place ahead of Deerfield and East Longmeadow High. In our league meets, MacDuffie beat Deerfield only once out of 5 encounters (top right).
